Another Mothers Day Memory

This is a picture we took of one of Ahad's artwork. The photo does not do justice to the painting...the painting is one of my favorites.

Ahad had presented me with this writing on one of the Mothers Day we shared together.

There are reasons why my mom is the best. My mom is the best because she's nice to my family. She let's me or my brother play gamecube for as long as we want. She makes me after school snacks. She makes me Pakistani chips. She is helpful with my homework. When I have trouble, I call her and she asks me something and I tell her. My mom makes me feel happy.

Love,

Ahad

Ahad and his Artwork

As many of you know, Ahad was an exceptional artist. In his short 12 years with us, he developed his art skills. As a result, our home is filled with his amazing artwork. This above painting was done when he was 12. Actually, Ahad and I were in the kitchen, and he decided to organize some items together on the kitchen island. He put together a candle, a glass, and some fruit. Next, he took a picture of that scene. Using that photograph,  he made this painting of our kitchen. If you look carefully, in the background you can see one of our stools, and our black fridge.

The painting is hanging on our kitchen wall...thanks Ahad for filling my life with art and love.

Mothers Day, 2008

In 2008, Ahad made me a little booklet for Mothers Day. It was very sweet, and I still get emotional when I read it. Each paragraph you read below is actually representing what he wrote on each page. If you can picture in your mind, this booklet he made consisted of different colored construction paper, overflowing with images he had drawn, and tied together with ribbon.

I know you love my paintings in my art room. I'll make as much as u want.

I bet you love the chocolate cake I make you. I will make brownie cake.

I know it's not fair when I pinch punch you on the first of the month. I'll let you win in June.

Someday, I'll make you a painting you love.

I am still afraid of the basement for 3 years. You would be down with me. I'll be with you when your scared of my Masooma.

I know you miss my chocolate chip brownies that I haven't made in years. I'll make some for you in 5 minutes.

More than ever I do for you. I'll make the brownies you miss.

We can go out for lunch. Or we can make lunch at home. Also we can just have a hug.

Don't forget about my book and thing I do ever ever. I'll make brownies sometimes when you want them. I'll clean my room when it's messy. I love you. Happy Mothers Day! I love you

This coupon is good for going to bed

So, just a couple of things. I used to love his brownies...hence the reference to brownies and brownie cake. He had made a chocolate cake for Mothers Day, which he refers to. The pinch punch was a tradition in our house. On the first of the month we would say (and do) pinch punch to whomever we could get without getting pinch punched ourselves. Ahad would always get me before I could get him!

Ahad made a coupon for me to go fo bed....I guess he thought I am always tired since I used to work nightshirt (which was true)!

A Brief Introduction To Ahad

This link will take you to an article about Ahad. It is written by his school, the Lewis School; a school that acknowledged his talents and allowed him to become his own person on his own terms. Hopefully, this article will shed some light on the hidden, inner beauty of Ahad that not all got to see.

You will have to paste this link so that you can see the article. My apologies on my neanderthal computer skills!
